Farm price declines hit cattle hog markets and meat output
Article notes a 30 percent fall in cattle prices and a similar drop for hogs over recent weeks, the largest decline since 1950, with Texas farm prices Sept 15 down two percent. Beef cattle at 47.80 per cwt and hogs at 41.80 per cwt reflect broader price swings, while crops show some gains. Livestock on feed and slaughter figures are provided alongside screwworm sampling reminders for producers.
