Rites Held for Vincent Hanna
Rites were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Robert Lee for Vincent Hanna four who was killed in an oil rig accident Sunday in the Spearman Perryton area. He was married to Ava Lou Tubb a granddaughter of Mrs Ava Maxwell of Bronte. They had one child Jerome age five. Surviving are his parents of Yazoo City Mississippi and two other children of New York state. Burial was in Fairview cemetery here under Clift Funeral Home direction.

Soaking Rains Bring Temporary Relief in Coke County
Widespread rain across Coke County brings relief to drought conditions. Bronte area reports up to four inches by Thursday noon, with Robert Lee totaling 3.75 inches and Oak Creek Lake receiving over two feet of runoff. Navy Seaman Raymond Caulder Killed in Naples Wreck
Seaman Raymond Caulder, 20, of Bronte, died in Naples Italy in a motorcycle collision with a truck. He enlisted January 26 1955 and was a drummer in the Longhorn Band. He is survived by parents four brothers two sisters and two grandmothers. Funeral plans await body transport to Bronte.

Caperton Chevrolet Displays Four 1957 Chevrolets Friday

Robert Lee State Bank Opens New Home with Public Open House
The Robert Lee State Bank completed a $50,000 building this week and opened for business Thursday in its new location across from the courthouse square. An out of town open house is set for Friday 3 to 9 pm and Saturday 3 to 9 pm with regular banking to noon. The site cost $10,000, bought from Mrs Effie Roe, and two old mercantile buildings were removed. Architect was Max Levett of San Angelo and the contract went to Rutherford Freeman of San Angelo.

Methodist Revival Set for Bronte Next Week
Rev. Lufier Kirk the Methodist district superintendent of Plain view arrives in Bronte this weekend to lead a week of revival meetings at Bronte Methodist church. Rev. Lin Loeffler will direct song services with two daily services from Sunday October 21 through Sunday October 28, morning at 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday, and evening at 7 p.m. An invitation is extended to all.
