Weekend visits span Ballinger San Angelo and Abilene with many families hosting gatherings. Tennyson Baptist Church names Dr. Domath as new pastor and plans a barbecue supper at the Arrott cabin with area residents attending.
Mrs George Braswell hosted the Joy Circle of the Methodist WSCS on Tuesday night September 24. Joy Lynn Wilkins presented the program titled He Speaketh Stil. Refreshments were served to Miss Wilkins and several gathered members.
An informal initiation was held Monday at the Bronte School for freshman F.H.A. girls. Thirty five members gathered at Janet Thomas's home before a formal initiation. FHA members plan a Day at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas Saturday, returning Sunday morning. Mrs. Royce Fancher sponsors Bronte chapter.
Blackwell High School schedules a full Homecoming day on Saturday October 12 with a 3 p.m. business meeting a 4 p.m. junior high football game against Divide a 5 30 to 7 30 p.m. barbecue supper for 125 per plate and an 8 p.m. Talpa Centennial Blackwell football game followed by refreshments in the new gym. The page also notes a close Blackwell win over Novice 18 14 as Kenneth Crain kicked a late field goal, plus community social items and church notices from Coleman Snyder and Monahans.
