Industrial Notes From Blackwell Venture and Community
Twenty five cadloads of gravel were unloaded at Blackwell to top a farm to market road linking Divide west to the area east of town, enabling paved routes to Winters, Sweetwater, Abilene and San Angelo. Cattle shipments include six cars of stockers to Happy and five for Hereford while wheat looks good in the region. The Blackwell cemetery gains praise for its rapid improvement, thanks to caretaker Coke Chapman. Al Snead advances his new home, and White Hat ranch receives a large carload of cottonseed meal from Memphis. The writer enjoyed a two week relief period visiting kin across several Texas towns and recalls childhood ties in Axtell. Farewell lunches mark Rev. J A Wheeler and wife departure, while Rev. R B Murray contemplates future posting. Subscribers urged to renew Bronte Enterprise for Blackwell news.
