Community records mention Rev John Early preaching at 11 o'clock Sunday. Wind and rain disrupted Sunday night plans as locals shared visits among families from Big Spring, Midland, Bronte and San Angelo.
The 69 Study Club presented a Holiday Ideas program led by Joyce Drake home economist for West Texas Utilities Co. at Fellowship Hall First United Methodist Church on Monday night. Guests from Sorosis and Diversity Clubs attended. Inside and outside decorating ideas were shown along with decorated baked goods and recipes. Forty one guests attended with refreshments and punch. A lighted ceramic Christmas tree, Christmas plates and cups decorated the tables.
Coaches Bob Shields and Mrs Zuta Sweeten announce the junior high season schedule. The list includes dates and venues for A girls and A boys games at Divide Christoval Robert Lee Water Valley Grape Creek Winters Miles Blackwell Wingate Bronte and other tournaments from October to February.
FHA representatives Alton Pyburn and Jack Philips will be at the Court House Wednesday November 22 to observe Thanksgiving the following day November 23.
Mrs. Willie B. Millikin and Mrs. Wade Rees attended an American Heart Association workshop in San Angelo Now 10. They reported an informative session and noted Coke County has no chairman. A local memorial fund for heart research is chaired by Mrs. Cecil Kemp and seeks donations.
Gerald C. Allen of Robert Lee State Bank presented awards to the Robert Lee Observer and Bronze Enterprise for their contribution to the United States Savings Bond program. A 1972 sales record note praises patriotic volunteers and local papers for donated ads. Arlen has long chaired Coke County Savings Bond efforts.
