A Cub Scout Round-Up is set for 7 p.m. tonight in Bronte School cafeteria. Scout executive Lewis H. White of Ballinger leads the meeting. All 8 9 and 10 year old boys and parents are urged to attend. The program has been updated for greater interest.
Sorosis Club members held a library program last Thursday night on Our School Library and How to Use it Effectively with Mrs Willie Mae Glenn Bronte Schools librarian leading. Members met at Mrs Clint Low Jr home then toured the school library, returning for a salad plate coffee and prinks served to Mmes Glenn Caperton Crockett Fancher Glenn McDonald Richards Percifull and others. They planned a rummage sale in Bronte on Saturday Nov 18.
Oak Creek Lake trotline anglers report solid catfish hauls. Lee Osterhont and Charles Vickers from Andrews combined for 30 pounds on 13 to 14% pound channel cats. T. E. Shaver of Odessa landed six channel cats up to six pounds. The Wrights of San Angelo anglers brought in crappie from the dock, eight fish ranging from 4% to 14 pounds, signaling improving fishing.
Local residents hosted guests from across Texas including Lubbock San Angelo and Beeville as communities swapped visits. The Scott family heads to Wisconsin then Germany on Air Force assignments while quilting club members and church families shared news and weekend plans.
Mrs. B. R. Davis spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Lowry and family in Hico. They were met there by Jackie Corley and Glenda Wright of Ft. Worth. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Baker and others visited Mrs. H. C. Hambrick and Dickie and Bev Burton at Koppers. Roy Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Cypert plus Earnest Hendrix joined from Christoval and Rowena respectively.
Mr and Mrs Roy Lee Baker of Tennyson welcomed a son at 11 30 p m Monday Nov 6 in Shannon Hospital San Angelo He weighed seven pounds seven ounces Named Roy Lee Jr Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Roy Baker of Tennyson and Mr and Mrs Dave Kelly of Miles Vernon Kirkland of Lubbock and Mrs Helen Kirkland had overnight visitors at the weekend.
