Legislature Study Aims to Review Lawmakers Pay and Duty
A blue ribbon speaker’s committee named by House Speaker Gus Mutscher, led by former AG Waggoner Carr, began work to evaluate lawmakers’ $400 monthly pay, workloads, facilities, ethics, and security. Four subcommittees will study duties, compensation, ethics, facilities, and internal security as pre-session planning proceeds.
