The Blackwell Baptist Church announces a Vacation Bible School from June 1 to June 10 with daily classes 8 30 to 11 30 a m and a commencement program at 7 30 p m on June 10 All children nursery age to 15 years invited A preparation meeting is set for 2 p m May 30 later notes cover local club events and graduations including honors for Blackwell High School seniors and a yard party hosted by the church

Bronte HD Club Meets in City Hall on May 18
Mrs. Gene Halamicek hosted the Bronte WHD club meeting at City Hall on Wednesday May 18 at 9 30 am. President Mrs. Taylor Emerson led the session with a roll call on what attracts attendees to a community. The program covered Civil Defense Water Purification presented by Mrs. C E Arrott. The floating prize, brought by Mrs. Emerson, was won by Mrs. B E Modgling. Visitors included Mrs. W A Halamicek of San Angelo and Mrs. H M Kirkland. Next gathering set for June 1 at 9 30 am with Mrs. W Hipp.

The Annual Methodist Vacation Church School starts next Monday at 8:30 and runs daily 8:30 to 11:30 through Saturday June 4. A short program and open house will be held the following Sunday during Sunday School. Mr and Mrs H A Springer learned their son in law and daughter Captain and Mrs William A DeRiemer will leave Germany May 30 and reach New York May 31 after a long Europe tour with the U S Air Force. They plan a 30 day Bronte visit then report to Tinker AFB Oklahoma for further duty.
