Rev M R Rogers officiated with Barbara Singleton as maid of honor and Charlie Fletcher as best man. The couple plan to reside in Lockport Illinois after finishing the term at Bronte school.

Mrs. Annice Brown aunt of E L Coward was killed when a tornado hit Waco business district last Monday. Her husband George is listed missing. Mrs Brown’s body was found Wednesday morning among scrap from the R T Dennis Furniture Store where she worked. many workers perished. Relatives await news on Mr Brown before funeral plans.

Memorial Program Sponsored by Bronte American Legion Post
The George Scott Post of Bronte will host a Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 30. Mrs. George Scott of Lubbock formerly of Bronte will present the flag used at her son's funeral to the local Legion Post. George Scott, killed in World War I, was Bronte’s first war fatality and the post is named for him. Also attending are Mrs. Scott, her daughter, Attorney Fred E Young of Lubbock, and Mayor H O Whitt who will give the acceptance speech. The flag will be raised after the presentation atop the new flag pole in front of the Legion building. Public invited.

Oak Creek Water Reaches Bronte Reservoir After Delays
Oak Creek water flowed into Bronte Tuesday as workers tackled time leaks and silting in the intake pipe. Officials hoped to fill the standpipe by Thursday night or Friday morning. Residents had endured muddy city lake water while Oak Creek Lake rose after heavy rains, with up to seven inches of rain in the watershed.

Funeral services were held for Pinkney Jayl Webb 79 at the Cox Funeral Chapel in San Angelo. He died Wednesday at Shannon Hospital and was buried in Fairmount Cemetery. Born July 1 18|d in Beeville he was a rancher who later ran a hotel business and lived in San Angelo for 60 years. Survived by two sons Carlos C Roswell New Mexico and C N Tennyson a daughter Katherine Hughes St Paul Minn two brothers seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
