Pvt J L Alexander of Company A at the Transportation Replacement Training Center Fort Justis Virginia was stationed to render homage to them in a formal ceremony honoring service and dedication.
The proclamation notes May 19, 1951 as Armed Forces Day proclaimed by the President. It honors U S armed forces for dedication and sacrifices in defense of freedom and outlines a national program to report on defense status.
At Fort Sill Oklahoma he served briefly after his March 26 induction then went on to Virginia. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Monroe Alexander and was employed at a San Angelo bank before entering the army.
