The Church of Christ in England extends a personal invitation to attend Bible study at 10 am and worship with communion at 10 50 am. Program notes include a Young People’s Class, evening services, Wednesday Bible Class, and Tuesday Ladies’ Bible Class.
Sunday School meets on the 2nd and 7th Sundays at 10 am. Bible Class on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 7 30 pm. Evening services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 8 pm. Local visitors include Mr and Mrs Chet Holcotthe and John Meo and Mrs J P Henry and Linda and Allen Henry in Abilene. Out of town visitors at the Church of Christ were Miro and Mrs Barker from Fort Worth and Mary Allen a student at Abilene Christian college. The American Dental Association urges community dental health programs giving priority to children to improve dental health without federal compulsory health insurance. Such programs should be locally adapted and operated in each community as the major target to improve future health standards.
The Methodist WSCS met Monday at the home of Mrs B F Bridges with Mrs T F Sims leading devotional and Mrs J O Raney guiding the Africa program. In business, a district WSCS meeting was announced for May 16 and 17 in San Angelo at the First Methodist Church with a prayer retreat planned.
An all-day program is planned for Tuesday May 17 following a 7 30 p m Monday gathering May 16. The Tuesday program includes officer training and port and press roles. WSCS officers and members were asked to attend, with cookies and poach served to listed attendees including Mines S A Riker J O Raney Buddy Kirkland B E Modgling O W Chapman F S Higginbotham T F Sims A N Rawlings Sam Lasswell Alvin Mauldin and the hostess.
