Open House at New Home Sparks Humble Reflections

Junior Study Club Hears Book Reviewer Mrs Whatley

Mrs A S Whatley served as guest speaker for the Junior Study club meeting held Tuesday night at Mrs W C Gardner’s home. She reviewed Louise Baker’s Snips and Snails and a luncheon including potato salad tuna salad potato chips cookies and Cokes was enjoyed by guests and members including Mrs Earl Moon of Strawn and hostess Mrs Gardner.

Mrs Larkin Visits Petersburg Kin Return Home

Mrs. D. Larkin returns Saturday from three weeks in Petersburg with her daughter and husband Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Fulgham. Mrs. Fulgham and daughter bring her home and visit with the Wylie Clarks and Tom Williams.

Knoxes Honored at Get Acquainted Party

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Knox were feted at a Friday night reception in the Methodist church hosted by Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Wolfenbarger and attended by teachers, school board members, and spouses. The event featured songs, a poem, romance themes, a musical game, and gifts for the bride, with refreshments provided by WSCS members.

Spring recital to feature Bronte and Blackwell students at Ballinger HS

Bronte and Blackwell students join Mrs. Doug Cox's spring recital in Ballinger Monday at 8 p m in the high school auditorium. The kindergarten class performs Little Black Sambo before the dance pupils take the stage. Participating Ballinger pupils include Dana Eubanks Margie Bennie Oglesby Tommy Suzanne and Shirley Hickman.

Bronze PTA holds final meeting at high school gym

The Bronze Parent Teachers Association schedules its last meeting of the year for Tuesday night at 8 p.m. in the high school gym led by Mrs. Dwain Pruitt. The program theme is We the People to Ourselves and Our Posterity Lets Evaluate with Mrs. O K Wolfenbarger as speaker. A summer planning business meeting follows and first grade mothers run the social hour.

Henrys Visit San Angelo With San Angelo Family

The J. T. Henry family spent Sunday in San Angelo with his brother Allan Henry and wife. They were met there by the men's parents Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Henry of Lampasas.

The week’s meals include meat loaf with candied yams and peas on Monday. beans and salt pork with barbecue and cole slaw on Tuesday. hamburger steaks with beans and spinach on Wednesday. cheese slices with fries and pork and beans on Thursday. and beans with franks in chili sauce and jello on Friday. The menu lists fruit options such as apricots, grapefruit sections, and apples.

Bronte Seniors Begin Four Day Galveston Trip

Bronte high school seniors left Wednesday morning for a four day trip to Galveston. The group, chaperoned by sponsor Vetal Flores, Garland Black and several room mothers, traveled aboard a Bronte school bus visiting points along the way.

Mrs J A Culpepper of Lometa spent the weekend with her parents Mr and Mrs John Keeney and other relatives. Capt and Mrs Roy T Pryor of Panhandle visited her parents Mr and Mrs Rube Collins. Monro Alexander family spent weekend in San Angelo with Dick Webster and others. Sgt and Mrs Jim Sanker arrived from Big Spring. Grady Baker visited his parents and grandmother in Winters. Albert Rawlings and family attended a speech recital in Abilene with granddaughter Cynthia. Cynthia stayed week with them. James Keeney from Trinidad Colorado visited his parents James L Keeney.
