Poultry Outlook Signals Higher Fall Egg Prices
The latest poultry outlook points to higher egg prices this fall with hatchery egg-type chick production down 25 percent in Q1 this year. Broiler production rose 6 percent year over year in early 1957, but continued reductions could curb broiler supplies late in 1957. Eggs at 40 cents a dozen offer a strong buy, while oats and small grains outlook remains encouraging. Coke County crops may be limited but present favorable prices for buyers.
