Dear Editor from Hog Creek Pokes Fun at Russians and Fashion

Uncle Huie writes to mock diplomatic stalling by the Russians and jokes about local troubles including unpaid debts. He riffs on TV fashion and Senate probes, laments modern dress trends, and quips that a hog with four hams would solve problems. He signs off in humorous, homespun style.

Sunday Visitors and Local Gatherings in Tennyson

Sunday visitors included the J R Cornelius family from Bryan and Curtis Cornelius with children from Midland. Fort Worth’s Mrs Mattie Ditmore visited Claud Ditmore and others. Roy Baker sustained a shoulder injury at work and was treated at Bronte Hospital. Social gatherings featured the Tonyson quilting club with attendees from Bronte Abilene and San Angelo, and visits by Gaston and Latham families among others.

Local Quilting Social In Bronte Attends Monday

Mrs Jack Corley Mrs John Gaston and Jeffrey attended a quilting at Mrs Martha Turner's home in Bronte on Monday Others at noon included Mr and Mrs Melvin Placke Bobbie Nell Mr and Mrs Horace Taylor Mr and Mrs Mitchell Caswell and many others Also notes of visits gardening and a new building housing a grocery store post office and cafe with minor completion work remaining.
