Coke County citizens thank all who joined the Red Cross War Fund Drive. communities Edith Wild Cat San o and Silver contributed. Bronte workers led by Mrs Alfred Taylor helped. Iedes in Robert Lee and Bronte also commended. Harry Hames and Bruce Clift chaired the effort.
Clarence N. Webb, chairman, Coke County A C A, announces details of the Dairy Feed Payment Program as of April 30, 1944. The notice outlines eligibility and payment procedures for local dairy producers under the relief initiative.
Final date for February production and sales applications is stated. The Dairy Feed Program continues for March and April sales. The rate for dairy production payments on whole milk is raised to sixty cents per cwt and eight cents per pound for butterfat. Submit receipts when applying. Payments under one dollar are not issued.
The livestock sale continues with entries showing buyers, animal counts, weights, prices per hundredweight, and totals. Notable consignors include Le Drew Arrott Nelda Ann Sheppard J B Arrott William Lee Brown and Isham Austin Jr with calves and lambs priced from 14.75 to 17.82, generating hundreds in receipts and prizes.
