Cooperation Asked In Anti Rabies Drive In Coke County
The Coke County Commission's court voted to provide poisoned bait free to farm and ranch operators to curb rabies. Bait distribution runs April 3 afternoon and April 4 morning at the County Agricultural Agent’s Office with supervision by Carl Baker and E G Pope of the Predatory Animal Control Service. Operators must distribute bait promptly in cattle areas and around stock tanks. Pete Gentry says Bronte residents fail to cooperate by keeping pets vaccinated and restrained. A local pound plan may charge owners to retrieve loose animals during a 30 day quarantine. Free vaccination continues, now totaling 536 dogs and 159 cats inoculated.
