New 56 Texas Highway Maps Now Available
Austin announces the 1956 Official Highway Travel Map with updated mileage and removed relief for clarity. The map highlights state parks, historical sites, altitudes, travel bureaus, and new pictorial sections. Maps are available from the Austin office, district offices, border bureaus, and tax collector license plate offices.

Bronte to Number Houses by Local Club Effort
Bronte will assign new street numbers with city bought numbers. The Junior Study Club will map and post the house numbers. Mayor Ernest Ivey said orders are placed and the numbers should arrive next week.

Mr and Mrs Louis Bridges and children visited in Hylton last Sunday with her parents Mr and Mrs W L Waggoner. They were met by her brother and sister and their families. Mr and Mrs Dick Webster and son Rickie of Ozona spent the weekend with the Monroe Alexanders. Alexanders son J L was also from San Angelo. Mrs C C Glenn Mrs Edna Butner and Mrs O W Willoughby returned from a ten day Southern states trip. They were joined by Mrs Carrie Williams of Abilene on a guided Dallas Cinerama Holiday tour then visiting the South. Guests at Ben Oglesby home included his mother Lula Oglesby of Lubbock. sister and son Mrs John Portwood and Russell of Brownfield. another sister and family Mr and Mrs Jack Winter Allan and Jackie of Fort Worth. Mr and Mrs L M Wood and Mrs W D Magner and daughter Flora Mae of Brownwood spent Sunday with Mrs Whitfield and daughter Miss Nannie Pearson. Other guests were Mr and Mrs L W Keilers and son Carol of San Angelo.
