Texas Lions Camp for Crippled Children Week Proclaimed

Governor Price Daniel designated March 16 to 21 as Texas Lions Camp for Crippled Children Week highlighting Kerrville facility. The camp serves handicapped children ages seven to sixteen free of charge, operates with 720 summer capacity and is funded by 37 000 Lions and friends, with about 1 500 000 raised. Applications processed locally through 780 Lions clubs. Coke County clubs areSilver and Bronte.

Brookshire Rabbit Drive Planned for March 24

Brookshire residents invite all to join a rabbit drive on Tuesday March 24 meeting at the Baptist Church at 8 30 a m. A noon barbecue will be served at the Brookshire school house with ladies asked to bring salads cakes and tea. The Maverick drive yielded over 2500 rabbits and Brookshire hopes to beat that total.
