Youngblood Returns From Washington On Colorado River Plan
L. T. Youngblood, UCRA chairman, said after meetings with congressional and government leaders that action now looks more hopeful for Colorado River irrigation. The Senate Appropriations Committee heard arguments on a $138 million request, with $110 million approved and $28 million tied to the project. If $2 million can be secured from the 28 million, tax remission for the UCRA would be set, improving prospects. He vowed to press again in fall or next spring if needed.
