J Lee Ensor thanks J T Henry for favors and competent instruction in FFA and for valued assistance during years of participation. Mr Huffaker is praised for care and recoveries and thanks are extended to all who offered support and kind words. Mr and Mrs J D Huffaker extend appreciation.
A Parent-Teacher Association event drew about 150 parents and children. Supt. O. K. Wolfenbarger praised the program, which included a general assembly, nominating report, classroom tours, teacher-led discussions, a social hour, and refreshments. Wolfenbarger heads to a National Education Association meeting in Denver after a Brownwood teachers meeting. Matthew Caperton visited Fort Worth on business.
Bronte high school girls basketball finished fourth in Region II B at Brownwood after a 59-57 win over Eula in Friday action. Mary Ann Gray led Bronte with 40 points, followed by Wanda Snead 13 and Joan Rusk 6. They lost to Lipan 64-49 in the semifinals and dropped the third place game 62-61 to Pottsville with Gray scoring 34 and Snead 26.
W R Goodson director of school accreditation with the Texas Education Agency will visit Bronte next week to review records and data at local schools.

Funeral services for Mrs Clyde Wigham 54 were held Saturday March 6 at Spill Memorial Chapel Winters at 2:30 p m. She died Thursday at a daughter’s home in San Angelo after illness. Burial followed in Wingate cemetery. Survivors include her husband two daughters Mrs Robinson and Mrs George Gideon of San Angelo one son Barney Ray Wigham of Austin and six grandchildren Larry Tricia and Cynthia Robinson among them.
