Blackwell School Activities and Local Events

The Blackwell senior class sponsors a box supper on March 15 and invites all to bring a box. Sophomores sponsor a March 12 event with the Gabbard boys from Wichita Falls, noting a prior no show. Admission listed as 25 and 50 cents. The library adds new books in the last month. Families from Roscoe travel for surgery in Young hospital. Mrs. Modrall undergoes surgery in Sweetwater hospital. Baseball and volleyball seasons begin for boys and girls. Vocational agriculture teacher Mr. James Little plans to take several students to San Angelo for the stock show. most boys will show sheep while Edmond Lanier shows a hog. Roscoe visitors Mr. and Mrs. Luther Sanders and daughter visit Blackwell Tuesday.

Ballinger Women Lead Gloves Training at County Office

Ballinger women held a glove making leadership training February 26 at the County Agents office. Mrs. B Ms. Batts and Mrs. Harold Routh led twelve club leaders and two visitors through cutting, stab stitching, and fitting gloves, with plans to demonstrate the skills to their clubs at a second meeting in March.

Havnek Hore Club Meets With Zipper Demonstration

The Havnek Hore demonstration club met February 17 at Mrs. W. G. Cresap home with Mary Dean as co host. Miss Vernemma Freeman demonstrated zipper plackets sleeves and collars. Mrs. L C Robbins gave a council report and an on ray TB screening was announced for Bronze March 8 9 and 10. A glove demonstration was planned for Robert Lee K on February 26.

Clothing program continues at County Livestock Show meeting

February meeting notes show a food portion and a planned March 3 gathering at Mrs. Aubrey Denman with Mmes. Robbins Labenske Denman Waldrop and others present. Visitors Lon Osborne Fort Worth and other San Angelo guests visited Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Springer over the weekend.
