Bronte area notes Franklin Thomas hospital admission and social visits
Franklin Thomas was admitted to Bronte Hospital last Friday and underwent surgery Saturday. His daughter Mrs Elton Gilliland of Big Spring stayed with him until Tuesday. Local residents including the Thomas, Hollands, Crenshaw, Foster, and Caudle families hosted and visited during the weekend and nearby towns. A Mertzon Bronte girls basketball game drew multiple families, with sewing club activities and upcoming meeting planned for March 8 hosted by Mrs Charlie Brown.

Blondes Beat Brunettes in Benefit School Gym Tilt
A humorous charity basketball game in the school gym last Monday pitted the Faculty Blondes against the school board brunettes and red heads with men in women’s clothes using girls rules. Officials J. C. Oden and George Braswell refereed. Donations totaled 88.25 for the rest room project at the football field, plus 49.16 from the Boy Scouts. Jim Verner, a local band instructor, broke his arm and was treated at Bronte Hospital overnight.
