Citizens celebrate Bronte facilities and community life while stressing reliance on local merchants. They urge residents to curb shopping in the big town, conserve fuel, and keep money in Bronte by frequenting shops, services, and restaurants to sustain the town’s economy and services.
Bronte School hosted an in service workshop Monday for small schools in Region 156 of the Texas Education Agency. About 275 attendees from 15 schools participated in the daylong meeting. Supt. C. B. Bambee reported the gathering very successful with authoritative speakers.
The annual 4-H Food Show and Project Show will be held in the Robert Lee School cafeteria. About 36 participants will display foods and projects with judging starting at 2 15 p m. Public attendance is invited from 3 30 to 4 p m. Awards are furnished by Coke County 4-H Cubs and ConAgri.
The Robert Lee-Li ver Lions Club and Coke County 4-H Clubs sponsor a pancake supper Friday in the Robert Lee School cafeteria. Serving from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. admission $1.25. Menu includes hot buttered pancakes with syrup, bacon, mekami coffee. An entertainment program features local talent with Edna Havins in charge and Jack Denman assisting.
Mr and Mrs C E Bruton were saluted with a quiet family dinner Sunday for their 54th wedding anniversary. Their daughters and sons in law, Spec Nicholas and Ren Spconts, hosted the completed dinner from San Angelo and Abilene respectively.
