About 300 fishermen gathered at Lake Spence last weekend. Reports list numerous catches by location and angler, including channel catfish up to six pounds, blacks to five pounds, white bass to four pounds, crappie to two and a half pounds, and a striped bass at nine pounds, with many anglers noted by town such as Odessa Edith and Roscoe.
