Bond proposed to finance city hall in San Angelo
Bronze city councilmen met with Jack Brown, an investment counselor, to discuss financing the proposed city hall. Brown urged a bond issue, noting the city’s strong finances and existing rent agreements with Coke County that could cover debt without a tax increase. A time warrant option was mentioned but would raise interest and construction bids. The city has 2300 in a building fund and the new hall would sit near the post office with offices, jail cells, a kitchen, rest rooms, and parking for two fire trucks, with an architect’s drawing on display.
