Lake Spence Fishing Report Highlights Summer Bounty
West Texans flock to Lake Spence over weekends as summer warms, reporting striped bass along with white and black bass, catfish and crappie. Multiple anglers including Y. J.'s Marina Mary Lee Purser in Big Spring, Max Milam in Midland, Rodney Thornton in Lubbock, Dink's Bait in Midland, Triangle Grocery & Bait in Lubbock, Ben Friebele in Fort Worth, and Wildcat Fish A Rama in Midland log stripers up to 11 pounds and numerous channel and yellow catfish, with several two to four pound specimens and crappie milestones.

Eddie Sosa and Jim Mundell of San Angelo won the Annual Robert Lee Partnership Golf Tournament with a two day 130 to claim the championship flight. Keith Mc Cutchen of San Angelo and Jerry McCutchen of Abilene took second with 133.

Melissa Streng is hired as librarian for Coke County Library. The library will now be open daily except Saturday with new hours: Monday 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday 12 noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday 12 noon to 8 p.m. Friday 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday 3 to 5 p.m.
