Death of W A Payne Local Farmer After Illness
W A Payne 77 longtime Coke County resident and farmer died Monday at Coke County Memorial Hospital after a period of ill health. Services were held at 3 PM Wednesday at the Methodist Church with Rev. Travis McNair officiating and burial in Robert Lee cemetery under Clift Funeral Home direction. He was born August 18 1882 in Mississippi and married Mary Clawson in 1911. Surviving are wife four sons two daughters 12 grandchildren six great grandchildren and three brothers.

Graveside Rites for Golden Hensley Jr
Graveside services for Golden Hensley Jr. 32 of Clovis New Mexico begin today at 10 a.m. in Fairview cemetery. Clift Funeral Home handles arrangements. He died Monday at his Clovis home after living there since 1950 and before that in Abilene from 1943 to 1950. Survivors include his wife and three children of Clovis, his father Golden E. Hensley Forsan, grandmothers Mrs. W. R. Hensley San Angelo and Mrs. Ida Brunson Abilene, and sister Mrs. Alyene Williams Abilene.

Clyde C. Jones 74 of Lubbock and formerly Blackwell died at 10 a m Sunday in Lubbock. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a m from First Methodist Church in Lubbock. He was born near Blackwell in Nolan County and lived in Lubbock 35 years. Survivors include his wife Eunice Whitaly of Blackwell, two brothers Fred Jones Rotan Otto Jones Colorado City, a sister Mrs T O George Lubbock, two daughters and a son.

Bronte Delegates Return From State Democratic Convention
D K Glenn and Charlie Boeck ing returned to Bronte Tuesday night as delegates from Coke County to the State Democratic Convention in Austin. They were accompanied by their wives as alternate delegates and Tommy Boecking joined the group. The party went as instructed delegates to back Lyndon Johnson for the presidential nomination and attended a dinner honoring Senator Johnson.

A June 12 Rogers family reunion at the American Legion hall in Bronte drew a large crowd. Plans were made to hold next year’s gathering on the second Sunday in June at the park with numerous members from Bronte Odessa Waco Belton and other towns attending.
