The Allen Bryan family from Pecos plans a long move to Alaska with Mr. Bryan working in oil field projects. They spent time with the Luckett family and other Bronte area friends during a previous visit, and will depart next week for the extended stay.
The Bronte H D Club met with Mrs. Fred Hughes on June 1. Mrs. Hughes read Roy Z Kemp’s poem Acceptance of Thanks. A citizenship program was led by C. E. Arrott J. C. Boatright and O. R. McQueen. The floating prize went to Mrs. F. P. Brown.
Mrs H C Murtishaw president of Division 58 LVNA and colleagues will travel to Tyler June 11 12 for a joint workshop by NAP NES and LVNA of Texas. Frances M Russell RN PhD will direct the program with Dr A J Bankhead delivering the keynote on LVN and self in relation to psychiatric patients. About 300 leaders from Texas Arkansas and Louisiana are expected at the Blackstone Hotel.
Melody Holcombe is in Kerens this week visiting the F. R. Collins family, staying for several days and sharing time with relatives in the community.
The June 2 gathering at Mrs. Gene Halamicek’s featured members Mmes. Arrott Boatright Green Montgomery Corley Patton Tidwell with guests from Bronte and San Angelo. Future quilting at Mrs. B. R. Davis in San Angelo on June 16 precedes a weekend of family visits and travel.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldred McGuire and companions traveled through Kansas and Oklahoma visiting relatives. They stopped in Kansas City to see Willy and Modeen Hail. The group then followed the Missouri River to Norman Arkansas visiting Dave and Dale Upton. Dale joined the McGuires for a visit until July 4. They praised the Ozark country along the way.
Mrs A R Bagwell has been employed as office nurse at the Harris Clinic in Robert Lee returning there with her husband after living in Winnie the past year. The Bagwells previously held the clinic job years ago and her husband is employed by Union Texas Petroleum. Mrs Mickey Black of Lawton Oklahoma visits her parents Mr and Mrs C M McCuchen while Lt Mickey Black serves temporary duty in Utah.
