Bronte County Park water facility welcomes summer swimmers with season tickets at 5 dollars and daily admissions of 15 cents for children and 35 cents for adults. The pool operates daily 2 30 to 6 p m except Wednesdays and Sundays 2 30 to 5 30 p m. County officials encourage use of park facilities aided by Coke County support.

Mindy Anne Neeley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Neeley of Waco. She was born in May 1924, weighing 8 pounds, with a brother Jonathan Curtiss. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cox of San Angelo and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hurley of Bronte. Mrs. Neeley is the former Melody Holcombe.
Bert Cornelius Jr 90 of San Angelo died Wednesday in a San Angelo nursing home. Services Friday 10 am at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel San Angelo with Rev Bob Fisk officiating. Burial Mule Creek Cemetery west of Tennyson with Masonic rites. Survived by wife four sons two daughters a stepdaughter 12 grandchildren nine great grandchildren.
After months with a single resident minister Bronte welcomes Rev Cecil Harper as First Baptist pastor and Dr James Shields interim at Brownwood. Robert Adams arrives as Church of Christ pastor replacing Melvin Placke while Rev C Earle Lewis moves to Bronte and Miles churches.
The Maverick Homecoming will be held June 14 and 15 at the Norton Community Center. Festivities start 5:30 p.m. on June 14 with a catered meal at noon on Sunday. Plates cost 2.25 dollars. All residents and friends are invited.
