Texas Commission completes sessions on constitutional revision
Austin reports the Texas Constitutional Revision Commission wraps winter and spring hearings and plans no meetings until August. The divided 1967 legislature and lameduck governor hinder progress with debates over appointing Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeals judges by a five member panel versus elected judges. Debates from Hank Brown Rep Dick Cory and UT professor Janice May emphasize democratic vs. appointed systems as fall meetings loom.
