Mrs Bennett Hosts HD Club Demonstration
The Union H D club met at Mrs Russell Bennett home on Friday July 23 for a top tables demonstration led by Mrs Bennett in the president’s absence Mrs Vernon Lammers. Members present included Mrs W W Ivey Mrs Sam Gray Mr Claude Beaver Mr Cullen Clark Mr Luther McCutchen Mr Everett Best and Mr John Coalson alongside guests from Ft Chadbourne and Hayrick clubs. The next meeting will be hosted by Mrs Will Gidion on August 13.

Bronte Crops Benefit From Recent Rainfall
Two recent showers fed crops around Bronte with one inch recorded last Thursday and another similar fall Monday night. A shower at Blackwell Tuesday morning was reported. Cotton looked good in most county sections with expectations of a heavy yield, while some feed crops near maturity and others just coming up after early month rains.

Henrys Leave for Teachers Meeting Trip
Mr and Mrs J N Henry and Linda Gayle depart Sunday for San Antonio and Lampasas. Henry will attend the Texas Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association and receive a meritorious service certificate.
