McCutchen Field Extension Signals Oil Well Tests
Indications this week point to an extension at the McCutchen Field near Bronte and Robert Lee. A well test at 3,970 feet bottom showed gas to surface in 10 minutes, mud in 15, and flow to pits in 23 minutes, with 85 barrels of oil produced per hour after connection to a water tank.

Dale Luckett son of Mr and Mrs G B Luckett is hospitalized after falling from a horse while riding in the east part of town. A splinter from a stick driven into his chin near the jaw was treated and his condition was reported good Thursday morning.

Showers Bring Cooler Weather Across Wide Drouth Area
Scattered showers Tuesday and Wednesday gave brief relief from scorching heat and drought across the region. Citywide DDT spraying planned for Saturday night
Bronte plans a citywide DDT spray on Saturday night weather permitting. Mayor H O Whitt said initial plans to spray Wednesday were halted by heavy clouds. If weather forces a delay, spraying could occur Sunday rain permitting. Residents are urged to leave windows open to allow the insecticidal fog to penetrate homes. Contributions toward the $400 goal for fogging are still welcome at city offices.
