Edna Butner Farm Spotlight Shows 1928 Terraces
The Edna Butner farm four miles north of town, now operated by D K. Glenn with Mr and Mrs Wilson Sharp on site, covers about 1100 acres of which 400 are in the soil bank. The property, once J A McDonald farm, features terraced cultivated land and water retaining pasture tanks. Glenn, secretary of the Coke County Soil Conservation District, notes pastures numbered head of sheep and cattle. the owners maintain soil and water conservation practices.

County H D Council chaired by Mrs. Pat Rives names committees for County Camp including Arrangements Crafts and Recreation and Food. A San Angelo speaker will discuss Social Security at the courthouse July 17 at 2 p m. Nominating committee elected to pick officers for the coming year. Eight members attended the meeting.

Funeral Held for Mrs Arledge prominent Nolan rancher widow
Funeral services for Mrs G H Arledge 75 widow of rancher and oil man Harve Arledge were held at Trinity Baptist Church Sweetwater with Rev Avery Sullivan and Rev Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial was in Blackwell cemetery. Mrs Arledge born Lillian Teague in Fannin County on March 23 1883 married Dec 19 1899.

Five Bronze band students have registered for the Mc Murry College Summer Band and Twirling School in Abilene.
