Texas Tax Surprises Hit Texans on July First
Austin reports a wave of tax increases and insurance hikes as July 1 brought a near one million dollar price spike and a 25 percent homeowners insurance rise in parts of the state. Auto insurance saw a recommended 2.8 percent statewide increase with higher premiums in several lines. 18 year olds gain voting rights in any current elections if registered.
