Moores to Hold Special Evangelistic Services at Church
The Rev Gene Moore and his wife Bobbie will conduct evangelistic services at the Robert Lee United Methodist Church January 27 through 30. The Moores, with their daughter Susan and son Jonathan, reside in Anson and lead a new evangelistic association titled Music and the Word. They have toured worldwide for 12 years and built a church in memory of their son Timothy in central India. They have four record albums and songs published, including God’s Newest Angel. Services are at 11 a.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. nightly for four nights.

Cemetery Marker Dedicated in Robert Lee Texas
Dedication ceremonies for the Official Texas Historical Marker at Robert Lee Cemetery were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Robert Lee High School Auditorium with 185 registered attendees. The marker, sponsored by the Coke County Historical Survey Committee and Hayrick Masonic Lodge No. 696, honors the cemetery established in 1891 by developers Harris and Cartledge. Local officials, lodge members, Boy Scouts, and community groups participated, with remarks by J. T. Henry and Grand Lodge speakers. the inscription notes the cemetery’s founding and its later transfer to the lodge for use as cemetery grounds.
