Gerald A. Fohn of San Angelo seeks re election to the 51st District Attorney post serving Tom Green Coke Sterling Irion and Schleicher counties He was appointed in November after Frank Dickey resigned and had been an assistant district attorney He is a Medina County native UT Austin graduate 1973 law degree married to Dolores Fuchs with one son His bid is subject to the May Democratic primary.

Women and church groups hold January meetings in Blackwell
The Blackwell First Baptist Church Missionary Union met January 15 with 12 attendees, led by Mrs. Billy Burl Holland, and held a Pink and Blue Shower for Mrs. Dan Hayes with 25 guests. The Blackwell United Methodist Women installed officers January 13 for the new year, with Jennings Lewis as president and a program on prayer planned for January 26. The Euterpean Club met January 15, electing officers and collecting gifts for Abilene State School, and a program on Organ Memories was planned for February 19. Nearby visits included Mrs. Lula Palmer’s Sunday visit and several relatives gathering in Bronte and Sterling City.
