Bronze Invitational Basketball Tourney Planned for Jan 20 22
Eight junior high boys and girls teams will compete in Bronte at the Bronze Invitational. Girls teams include Bionte B Robert Lee Miles Jim Ned Novice Bronte A Roscoe and Highland. Boys entries match except Boys Ranch replaces Novice. Games start 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday with finals at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Barbee Named to Texas School Financing Committees
Supt. C. B. Barbee is named to an 11 member Texas State Teachers Association panel and to the Lieutenant Governor's Committee to study school financing. The move follows a federal court ruling on ad valorem tax systems. Bronte teams traveled to Robert Lee last Thursday for three games. Robert Lee beat the B girls 31-22 with Diane Arrott 7 and Julie Snead 6 leading Bronte. Junior high girls won 39-8 as Sherrie Coalson scored 27 with Cum bie 6 and Hubbard 2. Elementary boys also lost 28-13 with Coalson and Butler each at 4 and Coulter 2.

Funeral services for Mrs Ed Ten Eyck held in Fort Stockton
Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Sammie Ten Eyck, 81, were held last Friday at Firet United Methodist Church in Fort Stockton. She died in a nursing home there Tuesday after a five month illness. The Ten Eycks were former residents of Tennyson.

Glenn and Gallaway Elected Directors in Kickapoo Water District
In light voting on Tuesday D K Glenn was reelected and Louis Gallaway elected as directors for Coke County Kickapoo Water Control and Improvement District No 1. Eighteen votes were cast all for Glenn and Gallaway. Gallaway replaces Norman Riker whose term expired. Holdovers Preston Davis Royce Fancher and Carroll Robbins have one more year.

Jr Stockmen Shine At Coke County Livestock Show
A Monday show in Robert Lee featured 147 animals including 98 pigs 42 sheep and seven cattle. Open bidding yielded six champions at 705 and prizes totaled about 600. top awards went to Millican family and 4-H members with champions in hog sheep and cattle divisions.

A deputy from O B Jacobs County Tax Assessor-Collector will be in Bronte on January 20 and 21 at First National Bank to collect voter registration applications. Eligible citizens should register by January 31. Eighteen year olds may register and vote. those over 65 must register to be eligible.
