Smorgasbord Traditions At Lutheran Church Relay In Texas
A reader recalls a November trip to a Norwegian settlement near Meridian and an annual Lutheran Church smorgasbord. The event features heirloom recipes, including krumkaker baked in a drum-like iron, and raises funds for the Ladies Aid Society. About 400 tickets are sold quickly, and a communal cleanup follows. The clipping also shares a Norwegian egg souffle salad recipe and notes on native costuming and community effort.
