Austin Texas Jan 4 1945 Dr Geo W Cox State Health Officer reports a Texas rise in whooping cough over the past two months and urges strict isolation of cases to prevent spread. He notes transmission by droplets and emphasizes early recognition and school exclusion until three weeks after symptoms. He advocates vaccination and convalescent serum to protect infants and small children.
Travis B. H ent of Coke county and Coke County Cooperative Association report favorable profits in peanut cultivation. In 1944 no lots were purchased, total 128386 pounds bought for 10326.45 dollars, average 543.50 per farm. Agent Hicks helped market peanuts.
