Coke County to Send Large Houston Delegation for Fat Stock Show
Coke County plans a sizable Houston trip for the Fat Stock Show with about 30 4H Club and Bronte and Robert Lee FFA members plus parents and supervisors. They will exhibit nine breeding sheep five heifers eight steers and 50 lambs while accompanied by friends and local trucker Clarence Mitchell who will haul the livestock.

Growers of corn and grain sorghum may sign up to take part in the 1962 Feed Grain program per C E Arrott chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. Signup runs Feb 5 through March 30. The program aims to raise farm income reduce excess stocks lower government costs and keep prices stable. Eligible crops include corn grain sorghum oats rye and barley with specific acreage reduction requirements and base restrictions.
