Opal Etta Harrist 62 of Blackwell died at Holiday Retirement Center in Sweetwater after a brief illness. Services were held at First Baptist Church Blackwell with Rev Harald Ely officiating. Burial in Blackwell Cemetery by McCoy Funeral Home. She leaves husband Vernon Harrist four daughters four sons two sisters two brothers and many grandchildren. Pallbearers named. Also notes LVNA seminar set Feb 19 20 21 at Driskill Hotel Austin co sponsored by American Lung Association of Texas with attendees Marie Mills Martha McAlister Christine Murtishaw Marlene Vaughn.
Funeral services for Carlton W. Robinson 81 of Wingate were held Monday at 2 30 p m in Spill Memorial Chapel Winters with burial in Wingate Cemetery The death occurred Sunday morning after a long illness He was the father of Roy Robinson of Bronte Born September 16 1893 in Comanche County he moved to Runnels County in 1916 and settled in Wingate He married Emily Howard in 1916 later married Madge Helm in 1934 He was a farmer and retired ten years ago Survivors include his wife three sons Roy Robinson Harley Robinson and R V Robinson a daughter Grace Childers three brothers five sisters eight grandchildren and two great grand children Grandsons served as pallbearers
Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie McCaleb Muston 81 of Robert Lee were held at Rockdale on February 12. Burial followed in Tanglewood Cemetery. She died February 9 in Shannon Hospital after a short illness from a fall and hip fracture. Born December 13 1893 in Falls County she married Andrew Muston in 1913. Survivors include three sons seven daughters 47 grandchildren 63 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She had moved to Robert Lee from Bangs in 1971 and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Bronte.
The Robert Lee-Silver Lions Club and Coke County 4H Clubs plan their annual Pancake Supper at the Robert Lee School cafeteria on Friday evening February 21. Serving runs 5:30 to 8 p.m. Admission is 1.50 per person with tickets on sale February 13 in Robert Lee and February 17 in Bronte. Tickets at the door. Proceeds support Lions Club and 4-H community projects. The talent show starts at 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.
