Petitions Call Study of New Coke County Jail
Petitions circulated in Robert Lee and Bronte urge Coke County Commissioners Court to study the need and construction of a new jail. Supporters argue the current facility is inadequate for prisoners and housing the sheriff, noting finances allow for a new jail after bonds for the courthouse and county park are paid. Some discuss turning the old jail over to the Coke County Historical Survey Committee.
