The sermonette urges joy in attending worship citing religious freedom and divine privilege. It emphasizes access to promises, duty to praise, personal blessing, and invites all to join in praise at God’s house.
Mrs. Taylor Emerson presided at the February 5 gathering at Mrs. W Hipp’s home. The program included minutes, roll call, 4 H Club report, and a Council delegate report with tub and frame garden demonstration by Miss Mary Pearl Bearden. Next meeting slated for Mrs. A C McAulley’s home.
Members of the Junior Study Club met in Bronte City Hall on Friday January 31 with Mrs Ed Nunnally Jr as hostess. Mrs Noel Percifull spoke on the Life of Irving Berlin and Mrs Earl Glenn on Cole Porter. Refreshments were served to a list of club members.
Charles Branson on terminal leave visited the T. E. Martin family in Lamesa. Local teams played in Water Valley and Bronte venues with Norton squads defeated. the Gooks beat Woodruffs Ballinger team 36 to 28 at the weekly league. Juanita Lee returns from Mayo Clinic and plans to enroll at ACC Abilene.
