Dr Geo W Cox State Health Officer in Austin Texas stressed that proper foods in the daily diet are crucial for maintaining good health. He notes pellagra is worsened by unbalanced diets and urges the public to avoid overlooked nutritional risks.
The Navy calls for officers to supervise scrap metal salvage with the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts and for warrant officers with carpentry and wooden boat construction experience to maintain motor torpedo boat hulls. Applicants should apply to the Office of Naval Procurement in Dallas.
A state health officer warns pellagra can affect any age and cause mental disturbances or insanity if the diet remains deficient. He urges daily milk, fresh lean meat, green vegetables, tomatoes and whole wheat bread, with eggs contributing to prevention.
