Funeral Rites Held for Ben F Murphy 77
Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Murphy 77 were held Tuesday at 3 pm in Bronte First Baptist Church with Rev. Lester L. Vinson and Rev. R W Blackmon officiating. Burial followed in Robert Lee Cemetery. He died Monday in Bronte Hospital after a long illness. Born February 16 1884 in Bowie he moved to Coke County in 1905 and remained local. Survived by wife Debbie Gunnels six daughters two brothers and other relatives. Pallbearers were local men from Tennyson Brookshire and Bronte.

Cheryl Jean Buford 12 daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Buford of 2738 Notre Dame in San Angelo died at 4 40 a m Wednesday at Shannon Hospital after measles illness. Funeral services are pending at Robert Massie Funeral Home. She was born March 11 1949 in McCamey and was a junior high student. Survivors include her parents a brother Ronald a sister Lana Sue and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. E R Buford of McCamey and Mrs B R Davis of San Angelo. Mrs Buford is the former Sarah Van Zandt a sister of Mrs Jack Corley of Tennyson.
