C Martin Tyler of Abilene posted a 500 bond after being charged with theft of two heaters from the Juniper school building around December 10. The complaint was filed by Justice of the Peace Robinson of Bronte. Tyler’s case is bound over to the grand jury to convene April 11, 1949.
Morning worship at Bronte church at 11 a.m. Pastor Alvin Mauldin leads 10 a.m. Sunday school and 7 p.m. evening worship and youth fellowship. Hayrick hosts 3 p.m. afternoon service. Glenn L. Hines operates the Santa Fe line per Puffing Down column note.

The Hayrick Who club held its annual Christmas party at Mrs. Aubrey Denman's home with candlelight décor. Members exchanged gifts from a lighted tree, answered roll call with scripture verses, and sang carols. Hostesses were Mrs. Denman and Mrs. L. C. Robbins. Refreshments included spiced tea, Christmas tree sandwiches, date bars, and candy amid a Santa scene. Attendees included Mines, Wesley Labenske, H. M. Stevens, Bill Braswell, W. G. Cresap, E. B. Fletcher, Cain and daughter Betty, Grandmother, Gladys Waldrop, Joanna Kay Denman, and the hostesses.
