The Chil dren's Bureau announces new federal support to provide maternal medical care for wives of enlisted personnel and medical and nursing care for their infants. Coverage targets wives in pay grades four through seven of the Army Navy Marine Corps and Coast Guard with prenatal care childbirth and six weeks post partum care plus infant medical and nursing services in the first year of life. Local health departments will offer home nursing where available and bedside care by physician recommendation. This is a right, not charity, program for eligible families.
