Texas plants face inspections under new health standards
Texas inspectors have visited 20 processing plants since October to enforce basic sanitary rules in meat facilities. So far 16 percent had prior health oversight. Plants must purge pests and pesticides from storage and processing areas, with full inspections required next year. Some may close if unable to meet standards.
