The Bronte Enterprise announces its next issue will publish Wednesday morning featuring Christmas shopping hints from merchants and a secret “Man of the Year” reveal. Nominations close soon and merchants are urged to submit early for day-before specials.
The WH Council held its annual Christmas party last Saturday in the Lee Baptist Church. Mrs. PLM Wylie, Sr. chairman elect, led the program while Miss Bearden read a Christmas story. Each member received a large bottle of hand lotion and Mrs. ALD Fields supervised refreshments.
Rev Roe preached in Angelo at the Methodist Protestant Church last Sunday. Residents and visitors including Mr and Mrs Bruce McFerrin of Silver and Henry Hrisca of Robert Lee traveled to see friends. Several locals made trips to San Antonio Abilene Colorado City Bronte and the plains while Mrs Evelyn Jackson was hospitalized in Bronte.
Visitors from San Angelo Alabama and other towns enjoy weekends with local families. WSCS officers elected for the coming year include Austin Jordan and L W Sweet with diverse roles. The December program featured We the Peoples and carols. Christmas gifts exchanged at the HD Club meeting. Ent. gift subscriptions offered for neighbors.
Lonnie Ray Forman age 19 seaman first class and son of Mr and Mrs Robert Forman arrived home from Ginon after receiving discharge from the Navy. He served for several months and earned a diploma after finishing his work at Bronte High School. He traveled on a C34 plane that was grounded briefly due to weather allowing extra time in Honolulu. He plans to stay here awhile visiting friends and relatives.
Judy Linn Coleman daughter of Miro and Mrs Buck Coleman marked her second birthday with a party at home last Friday afternoon December 12 The attendees included Eloise and Hoy Max Hester Jacque Capera Gay Perciful Rex Harris Dean Caperton Wayne Bridges Larry Robinson and Eddie Glenn.
Mtb Anderson of Houston, representative of the Mergenthaler Lino Type Company, was an office visitor.
