Bronte Soldier Returns Home As Vietnam Duty Ends
A Bronte soldier, Brown, completed five months in Vietnam with TDY time toward Da Nang Nha Trang and Saigon before a 45 day home leave. A 1963 Bronte High School graduate, he will report to Ft. Sill after 14 months left on a three year hitch.

Bronte Longhorn Band to Present Christmas Concert
Bronte Longhorn Band will perform a Christmas concert on Wednesday December 22 in the school auditorium. Russell Lee Fuller band director invites the public to attend. The program includes Christmas music and possibly additional numbers with 54 band members, curtain at 12 40 p m, no admission charge.

Bob Wells Named to All-District Band at Sweetwater
Bob Wells son of Mr and Mrs James Wells earned membership in the All-District Band after a Saturday contest in Sweetwater. He plays bass in the contest though he normally performs as a trombone in the Longhorn Band. He becomes eligible for the regional tryout on January 8.

Services Thursday For Mrs. Hurst 83
Funeral services for Ettie Iona Hurst aged 83 are set for Thursday at 10 a.m. at Tennyson Baptist Church with Rev. W. B. Chandler and Rev. Robert Ritchie presiding. Burial follows at Rankin Cemetery. Williams Funeral Home of Bronte handles arrangements. Mrs. Hurst died Tuesday at Shannon Hospital in San Wes Hurst was born in Anson March 14 1882 and married twice to William Jessie Green and Bud Hurst. She leaves two sons, a daughter, stepchildren, sisters, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Pallbearers are James Arrott, Jack Corley, Charlie Brown, Wayne Arrott, Charles Ray Brown, and Clarence Arrott.

Bronte High School junior class presents Dirty Work at the Crossroads or Tempted Tried and True Friday at 7 30 p m in the school auditorium. A three act melodrama features Frances Glenn as Nellie Love lace with a cast including Gary Allen Deborah Terry Ida Rhinegold Mad Richards Munro Murgatroyd Edward Broussard and Mookie Ma. Admission 75 cents adults 50 cents students. Directed by Miss Judith Smith with intermission entertainment and refreshments in the cafeteria.
